ID Difficulty:

ID pointers: Forewings are a pale greyish brown speckled sandy-brown and greyish-brown, shaded darker at the base, with many short blackish streaks, mostly from one half. A paler cross-band at three quarters, slightly angled in appearance.
Distribution: Fairly common on waste ground, margins of roads etc., where wild parsnip (Pastinaca sativa) and Hogweed exists. Possibly under recorded
Flight Period: January / February / March / April / May / September / October / November / December / - On the wing September and throughout the winter to May – Over winters – Often seen feeding at night on flowers
Moth Activity: Nocturnal - occasionally attracted to light
