Taxonomy:   Micro  >>  Depressariidae Other Name/s: Parsnip Webworm, Depressaria heraclei, Depressaria pastinacella ID Difficulty:  amber  - care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely - quality photographs required.
ID pointers: Forewings are a pale greyish brown speckled sandy-brown and greyish-brown, shaded darker at the base, with many short blackish streaks, mostly from one half. A paler cross-band at three quarters, slightly angled in appearance.
Distribution:  Fairly common on waste ground, margins of roads etc., where wild parsnip (Pastinaca sativa) and Hogweed exists. Possibly under recorded
