ID Difficulty:
- easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: A colourful member of the group. Forewing greyish white with much variable mottling of darker grey. Shoulders and head white. Two large blotches on the costa and a black spot bordered with reddish streak. A row of black dots along the termen.
Distribution: A fairly common moth throughout the county wherever there is Hemlock.
Flight Period: January / February / April / August / September / October / November / December / - On the wing August – April. Easily attracted to light
Moth Activity: Cathemeral - and is attracted to light
