Taxonomy:   Micro  >>  Chimabachidae Other Name/s: November Tubic – formally Diurnea phryganella ID Difficulty:  amber  - care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely - quality photographs required.
Confusion Species:  D. fagella
ID pointers: The male forewing is a light brown variably shaded grey and yellowish brown, with an obscure dark spot usually present at two-thirds and a diagonal line from the costa to the tornus. The females have under-developed wings (brachypterous).
Distribution:  (Last record: 13/10/2024 at Long Clough )  -  Formally known as Diurnea phryganella, the status in Derbyshire is uncertain as there appears to be only a handful of records since 1959. What few records there are have all come from the high NW of Derbyshire.
