ID Difficulty:
- easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Forewing pale brown speckled overall with dark brown. Two dark sports at about a third a further two at a half and a number of dark dashes towards the leading edge and wing tip.
Distribution: Common right across the county.
Flight Period: January / February / April / May / June / July / August / September / October / November / December / - On the wing throughout the year.
Moth Activity: Cathemeral - and is attracted to light
