ID Difficulty: - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: A variably coloured little moth and more slender than the other minors. In the form bicoloria Vill the basal half of the forewing is brown and this contrasts strikingly with the broad white outer half. Oval marks outlined in white. Other less contrasting forms occur.
Distribution: A resident that is locally common in the lowland areas of Derbyshire. Absent from the north of the county.
Flight Period: July / August / - On the wing July – August.
