Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Noctuidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: The hind-wing is a pale straw-yellow with brown borders and along with a generally grey brown upper-wing and a white wavy outer cross-line are diagnostic features. 
Distribution:  A resident that is widely distributed, mainly in the lowlands where it is fairly common and recorded in small numbers. Was considered rare in the county, prior to 1960 but seems to have extended its range from south to east since and is regularly recorded across many sites throughout the Trent Valley and even into the Peak District.
