Blue -  Generally Common / Widespread        day-flying - Day-flying
Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Erebidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: A small thick-set, dark crimson coloured moth with pale pink fringes to the forewings and a few black spots located on the central area of the forewing. The hindwing is a bright pink with a black trailing band and a pink fringe. Fairly unmistakable.
Distribution:  A resident species in Derbyshire that is widely distributed but locally common. Recorded in all areas of the county including some of the highest and remote moorland areas of Kinder Scout. Is generally uncommon in the lowlands.
