Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Notodontidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: The moth is fairly diagnostic. Looks very much like a piece of broken wood. The most obvious feature are the large up-tilted palps at the front and the two tails tufts at the rear of the body.
Distribution:  A resident species that is generally uncommon and locally distributed in small numbers throughout South Derbyshire. Generally scarce and sporadic in other areas of the county.
