Confusion Species:  Lesser Swallow Prominent
ID pointers: The moth can be told from the Lesser Swallow Prominent by its often larger size and the indistinct pale tornal streak or wedge on the trailing edge of the forewing that extends inwards to at least halfway towards the wing base. A fine whitish line arcs around the trailing edge of the forewing and around the margin of the hindwing. The base wing colour is a yellow-cream with black margins and fine white streaks extending inwards from the trailing edge.
Distribution:  A resident species that is generally uncommon and locally distributed in the county. Most frequently found in the Trent Valley of South Derbyshire.
