ID Difficulty: - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: The moth is easy to identify by the large dark “pebble-like” patch on the outer area of the otherwise yellow-brown forewing. The “Pebble” is bordered by a black curved mark and a white wedge.
Distribution: A resident species widely distributed and locally fairly common in Derbyshire.
Flight Period: May / June / - On the wing May-June
Moth Activity: Nocturnal
