Confusion Species:  Poplar Kitten
ID pointers: A grey cross-band that is almost straight along the inner edge, helps to identify it from other Kittens. The outer edge is wavy and there are irregular markings within the forewing. A line of black spots borders the trailing edge.
Distribution:  A resident species that is generally uncommon but widely distributed especially in the lowlands of Derbyshire. Almost absent from the Peak District and no records from the Peak Grit region.
