Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Notodontidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: A large white furry moth intricately marked on the forewings with pale grey arrow-heads and yellow wing veins. The body and wing base is covered in a number of small black spots. Rests with wings held angular to the body sides.
Distribution:  A resident that was a fairly common but localised species throughout the lowlands and eastern moors of Derbyshire. It maybe declining in numbers in recent years with few records.
