ID pointers: An often yellowish-brown coloured pug, having a more rough and blotchy appearance. Wing shape more pointed than Slender Pug and has scalloped edge to central band across the forewing. There are usually two dark blotches near the apex of the forewing in the sub-terminal area that are separated by a pale flash. This individual is worn but this feature can just about be seen.
Distribution:  (Last record: 2024 )  -  A nationally local species and current status in Derbyshire is probably locally rare. In 1986 it was only known from one area of ancient woodland in central Derbyshire. Recorded in 2005 from Kings Newton and again in 2021 when one came to actinic light on 9th September from Middleton in Youlgreave. A scattering of records seems to be the trend each year, with records in 2023, from Ripley and one from Haddon Hall. Several records in 2024.
