Confusion Species: The Spinach
ID pointers: Similar in colour and has the same unique resting posture as the Spinach. The ground colour is a straw yellow with a prominent narrow cross-band that lacks any “tooth-like” projection. The fringes to the forewing are plain brown. These features help to distinguish it from the Spinach.
Distribution: A resident species, that is locally common and widely distributed in Derbyshire. It inhabits all areas of the county.
