Taxonomy:   Macro  >> .  . >>  Geometridae  >> Larentiinae
ID Difficulty:  green  – easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: A silver-grey to greyish-white species with a darker grey broken cross-band. There are three distinct dark grey patches on the forewing which eliminate other carpets that are similar.
Distribution:  A resident species, common and widely distributed throughout Derbyshire. Sometimes found in large numbers and often seen on the wing during the day.

Forewing: 13-16mm Food Plant: Cruciferae, including Garlic Mustard, Shepherd’s-purse, Hairy Bitter-cress and Cabbage.
