Confusion Species: Orchard Ermine (Yponomeuta padella), Spindle Ermine (Yponomeuta cagnagella) and Willow Ermine (Yponomeuta rorrella)
ID pointers: Difficult to ID, so best guide is the food plant. White head and palps, pure white forewing, with a slight greyness to the central area and scattered with black dots. Please record undetermined specimens of Yponomeuta padella, Yponomeuta malinellus and Yponomeuta cagnagella as the aggregate.
Distribution: Widespread and local, especially where there are orchards.
Flight Period: July / August / - On the wing July – August
Moth Activity: Nocturnal - and is attracted to light
