Two New Moths

I spent yesterday (7th April) afternoon with one of our recording team members and local Moth-er Christian Heintzen, he took me around his local patch near Glossop, on the moors and at a local woodland, in search of Emperor Moth and a micro moth called Pammene giganteana, (Early Oak Gall Moth) both of which were new moth species for me. We managed to attract 7 Emperor Moth to the EMP lure and 7 Pammene giganteana to SKI & FUN Lures. There were also at least 30-40 Dyseriocrania subpurpurella flying in the warm  spring sunshine. A superb afternoon and not a cloud in the sky, and the Derbyshire moorland scenery was amazing.
