The first modern day record (to my knowledge) of Pammene giganteana was recorded today on the upland moors above Glossop. Christian Heintzen recorded as many as 15 individuals that were attracted to the SKI/FUN lures. The last recorded date was from 1928, but undoubtedly this species is most probably well spread across the recording area, and would appear to be very much under-recorded. Nevertheless an extremely good record to set the status straight. Christian’s photograph of one of the individuals accompanies this news flash.
