Moth Trapping at Hardwick Hall

The Derbyshire Moth Team have taken on a new challenge. We have been invited by the National Trust Rangers at Hardwick Hall to help them conduct moth surveys, within the grounds of the Hardwick Estate, throughout 2026. The first session took place last night (10th April 2026) when the “Hardwick Hall Moth Team” ran three light traps. Highlights from 23/7 were Lunar Marbled Brown, Pine Beauty and Brindled Pug. Also recorded were – Herb Garden 20w Wemlight – Hebrew Character (1); West Court 125MV Robinson Brindled Beauty (1); Hebrew Character (2); Small Quaker (2); – North Orchard 15w Actinic 80w MBF Hebrew Character (10); Small Quaker (3); Clouded Drab (1).
