More Rare Migrants continue to arrive

Mid August saw a number of rare migrants recorded in Derbyshire. An influx of Scrobipalpa oceelata (Beet Moth) during the month,  the 3rd and 4th records of Ni Moth, one Allestree 15th (Stephen Plant) and one 20th Cromford (Clive Ashton). A Dark Sword-grass 20th Belper (Dave Evans), Bordered Straw 18th Belper (Dave Newcombe), Palpita Vitrealis 18th Hathersage (Alan Kydd), Dewick’s Plusia one 17th Cromford (Clive Ashton) and one 18th Chaddesden (Neil Loverock). A Scarce Bordered Straw 17th Belper (Dave Newcombe) and a Clifden Nonpareil 15th Belper (Dave Evans). With a few Rush Veneer, Rusty Dot Pearl, numerous Plutella xylostella (Diamond-back Moth) and White-point, it has been quite a month for rare and semi rare migrant moths for VC57.
