ID Difficulty:  green  – easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Head is a creamy-whitish with an ochreous thorax.The forewing is ochreous-brown that becomes pale towards the base and is darkest at the costa; an oblique whitish streak from the costa at 3/4 towards, but not reaching, the tornus; a shorter streak from the dorsum at 3/4; a series of white subterminal dots. The colourful larvae feed during May-June.
Distribution:  (First record: 8 July 2025 at Wildboar Clough, Longdendale )  –  (Last record: 8 July 2025 at Wildboar Clough, Longdendale )  –  First VC57 Derbyshire record when 2 were recorded from a moth trap at Wildboar Clough, Longdendale 8/9th July 2025. Widespread across England and Wales where the food plant, Bracken, exists.
