The larvae feed on Oak and characteristically make twisting initial mines as a tortuous, silvery gallery in the upper epidermis, which then join to form a large papery blotch. There are multiple galleries, often several on a single leaf. Larvae feed on the palisade parenchyma within this communal mine. Pupation usually occurs outside the mine, in a silken cocoon amongst detritus.  Moth Activity: Cathemeral   – but can be disturbed during the day Photographed: Yes –  Photographed By: Mark Radford, Pete Mella, Dave Evans  © All Rights Reserved
