Distribution:  (Last record: 1956 at Goyts Moss )  –  Uncertain – restricted to high moorland where there is heather – Harrison & Sterling make just one reference to Goyts Moss 1954 – 56 on heather.

Mine Comment: The larvae feed on heather, hibernating during the winter. They remain active within their cases from autumn through to the following spring. The final case is distinctive, being shining black with a thin keel in the centre that gives it a swollen appearance.
