ID Difficulty:  amber  – care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely – quality photographs required.
ID pointers: The adult males are plain, dull brownish moths. The females are wingless and grub-like in appearance.
Distribution:  (Last record: 2 November 2023 at Fairholmes )  –  Despite being reported as common in Derbyshire (Harrison & Sterling 1988) it now appears to be uncommon in the recording area with only two records, 2022 & 2023, despite the national status being common. Both records refer to the larval case – no reports of adults.
