Taxonomy:   Micro   >>  Tortricidae  >> Olethreutinae
ID Difficulty:  amber  – care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely – quality photographs required.
ID pointers: Forewing blackish brown, sometimes with an orange tinge, with a large pale yellow to orange-yellow dorsal blotch. From above the blotch appears to have two drawn-out peaks, pointing towards the apex. A series of white or creamy white streaks along the costa.
Distribution:  Probably a widespread species in the county where there is Sycamore, although few records since 1985.
