ID Difficulty:  amber  – care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely – quality photographs required.
ID pointers: The forewings are dark brown with a coppery gloss, with variable silvery-white markings forming two slight cross-bands and small spots towards the wing apex. The cilia are tipped white and the moth has very short palps. 
Distribution:  (First record: 2 July 2019 at Belper )  –  (Last record: 22 March 2026 at Markham Vale (North) Seymour. )  –  Uncertain – First VC record was 2/7/2019 from Belper, followed by another from Kings Newton on 16/7/2019. First record of larval tubes from Staveley and Markham Vale, March 2026.
