Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Noctuidae ID Difficulty:  amber  - care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely - quality photographs required.
Confusion Species:  White-line Dart
ID pointers: A rather plain brownish or blackish coloured moth, that is similar in shape and size to White-line Dart. Lacks the “arrowheads” on outer wing edge. More northern individuals are blacker in colour. 
Distribution:  (Last record: 28/08/2024 at Cromford )  -  Generally uncommon and possibly widely distributed in Derbyshire. Mainly recorded from sites in the Trent Valley and the Coal Measures. Very few recent records being last recorded on 28/8/2024, the only report in the year.
