Taxonomy: Micro >> Crambidae
ID Difficulty: - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Forewings are a yellowish-brown or straw-coloured with several diagonal and dark coloured cross-lines. Veins dark. Two dark brown spots in the central area of forewing and dark diagonal dashes in the corner of each wing tip. Holds wings “tent-like” when at rest.
Distribution: Widely distributed and can be common in gardens in lower lying areas of the county.
Flight Period: May / June / July / August / September / - On the wing during May – September.
Moth Activity: Nocturnal - and is attracted to light
