- easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: A beautiful little moth. Both fore & hind wings a metallic purple with wings fringed a bright golden orange. Two golden orange spots along the leading edge with wavy cross-lines through the hind wing. Fairly unmistakeable.
Distribution: Widespread across the county. Mainly found on Hay and Thatches.
Flight Period: April / May / June / July / August / September / October / November / - On the wing during April – November.
Moth Activity: Nocturnal - and is attracted to light
