Taxonomy:   Micro  >>  Pyralidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: The male is more attractively and brightly marked than the female. Male is long and thin in appearance. Silvery white or greyish white to basal half of forewing with greyish brown or pinkish tawny and green tones to remaining half of forewing. Various black dashes along the edge of the termen. The female is slightly larger, shorter and wider in the body. Forewing is browner and usually greenish along the costa and termen. With a pair of black spots about half way along the outer edge of the forewing.
Distribution:  Widely distributed and locally common across the county. On combs of Wasps and Bumble Bee nests.
