Taxonomy: Micro >> Tortricidae
ID Difficulty: - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Base of forewing pale greyish, speckled with darker brown with whitish-grey cross-bands. Rear end of forewing darker brown suffused with metallic purple blotches and four or five black dashes. Cydia pomonella has longer wings, a large coppery ocellus and fine transverse brownish lines.
Distribution: Locally common where there is oak woodland.
Flight Period: July / August / September / October / - On the wing during July – October.
Moth Activity: Nocturnal Crepuscular - active from dusk and attracted to light
