Other Name/s: Yellow-faced Bell, Epiblema cynosbatella
ID Difficulty: - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: The yellowish labial palps help to distinguish it from several similar species. The basal third of forewing blackish-brown. Remainder of wing a creamy white with silvery grey marks and blotches. A greyish brown blotch at the wing tip.
Distribution: Common and widespread throughout the county amongst wild and cultivated roses. (Was Epiblema cynosbatella).
Flight Period: May / June / July / - On the wing during May – July.
Moth Activity: Nocturnal - but can be disturbed during the day
