ID Difficulty: - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: A small tortrix intricately marked with red, yellow-buff and black. A large central buff-yellow mark and two black forewing patches edged with yellow streaks, are fairly distinctive.
Distribution: Locally common throughout the county.
Flight Period: June / July / - On the wing during June & July.
Moth Activity: Cathemeral - males sometimes fly in sunshine, both sexes fly at night and come to light
