ID Difficulty:
- easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Cream to straw yellow elongated forewing. Often rolled up. Some dark spots at about two-thirds. Very variable in degree of colour and markings, with some quite plain and others dark and well marked.
Distribution: Not listed in Harrison & Sterling (1988) – An accidentally introduced species to Britain that has now established itself and is expanding its range. Fairly common and widespread in the VC57 recording area
Flight Period: May / June / July / August / September / October / November / - On the wing in two generations – May – August & September – November
Moth Activity: Nocturnal - and is attracted to light
