Taxonomy:   Micro  >>  Nepticulidae Other Name/s: Common Rowan Pigmy ID Difficulty:  amber  - care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely - quality photographs required.
ID pointers: A long winding, contorted mine, often doubling back, with variable frass, which quite often follows the serrated edge of the leaf of Sorbus sp.
Distribution:  (Last record: 30/10/2024 at Belper )  -  National Status – Widespread but localised distribution. Derbyshire status unknown, but suspected to be common where the food plant (Rowan- Sorbus aucuparia)
