ID pointers: Egg found on the underside of the leaf. The mine is a narrow gallery, with frass only found in the initial stages of the corridor (Just about visible in the photo). Found on Ulmus (Elm)
Distribution:  (Last record: September 2022 at Belper )  -  National Status – A local species throughout much of England. More scarce further north – Derbyshire status unknown only two records of leaf mine so insufficient data. Adults rarely seen but have a Black head and bright coppery red forewing with shiny purple and a silver fascia
