Confusion Species: Elachista utonella (Bog Sedge-miner)
ID pointers: The adults are fairly distinctive with their dark elongated forewing spot on a pale ground colour.Care has to be taken with confusion over other species.
Distribution:  Uncertain – Would have thought it is present on the high moorlands in the county where there is Cottongrass – 1954-56 Goyts Moss (Harrison & Sterling) – No Modern Derbyshire Records Found
