Distribution:  Old records from 1917-1926 Repton appear to be dubious and would have required Gen Det due to incorrect food plants recorded. Species feeds principally on Malus & Prunus not on Elm or Osier as per detail in Harrison & Sterling 1986.
Flight Period: June /  July /  -  single generation Mine Period: January /  February /  March /  April /  May /  September /  October /  November /  December /   - A blotch mine is made by the larvae in the leaf, which it then cuts out to form its case. The larva overwinters in its case before resuming feeding in spring. A new case, 6-7mm long, is then constructed from a further blotch mine.
