ID pointers: An attractively marked little leaf miner. The head and thorax silver with the forewings marked orange-red with silver markings edged with black and blackish cilia.
Distribution: Presumably a common species on Fat Hen, Goosefoot and Orache. The below is probably the first modern day record 15/06/2004.
Flight Period: May / June / July / August / September / - On the wing in two generations – May – July & Aug – Sept
Mine Period: July / August / September / - The larvae feed by mining the leaves of goosefoot (Chenopodium) and orache (Atriplex), forming a contorted gallery.
