ID pointers: A large rather blunt winged moth with small blackish crescent shaped marks along outer wing fringe and fine arrowhead markings alongside. Ground colour a pale reddish-brown in the male and a light straw or greyish-straw in larger female. White veins are prominent
Distribution: A resident that is locally common and widely distributed in Derbyshire. Found in river valleys throughout the county where Common Reed Mace or Bulrush occurs. It is not uncommon at isolated ponds in the north.
Flight Period: August / September / - On the wing August – September.
