Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Noctuidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: A rather drab looking and drab coloured moth which is aptly named. Fairly diagnostic with main feature being a small black oval and the kidney mark being represented by two small black dots. The overall ground colour is a shiny mouse-brown coloured forewing. The moth has a habitat of running, mouse-like”, when disturbed or exposed to light. 
Distribution:  A resident that is generally common and widely distributed in Derbyshire. Found in all areas of the county and generally more common in the Trent Valley and the Coal Measures. Uncommon in the High Peak region.
