ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Fairly diagnostic. Ground colour and orange-yellow with a broad central cross band that is hooked slightly towards the leading edge of the forewing. Also a partial band along the outer edge of the wing. These bands are a pinkish-reddish-brown colour and vary in intensity.
Distribution:  A resident that is fairly common and locally distributed in Derbyshire. Found in all areas across the county. Most numerous in the southern areas of the Trent Valley.
