Centre-barred Sallow – Noctuidae – Xyleninae – Atethmia centrago – colour code •
STATUS – A resident that is fairly common and locally distributed in Derbyshire. Found in all areas across the county. Most numerous in the southern areas of the Trent Valley.
ID POINTERS – Fairly diagnostic. Ground colour and orange-yellow with a broad central cross band that is hooked slightly towards the leading edge of the forewing. Also a partial band along the outer edge of the wing. These bands are a pinkish-reddish-brown colour and vary in intensity.
FLIGHT PERIOD – On the wing August – September.
