Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Noctuidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Looks and resembles a piece of dead plant stalk or twig. A combination of reddish brown and bright cream markings help to create the effect. A prominent “Sharks Fin” feature curls over the head. Fairly unmistakable.
Distribution:  (Last record: 08/07/2024 at Ashford-in-the-Water )  -  A resident that is generally uncommon but widely distributed in Derbyshire. Recorded from all areas of the county but present in very small numbers throughout its range.
