Blue -  Generally Common / Widespread        day-flying - Day-flying
Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Erebidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Smaller than the ermines and always with a whitish or grey-brown abdomen. The broad forewings of the male are a dove grey colour with a sprinkling of black spots scattered across the surface. The females are white.
Distribution:  A resident species in Derbyshire that is widely distributed but generally uncommon. Largest population densities are found in the Trent Valley and the Coal Measures. Present in small numbers in the limestone dales.
