Blue -  Generally Common / Widespread        day-flying - Day-flying
Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Geometridae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: An unmistakable moth that holds its forewings back covering the hind wings. The hind wings are a silvery-brown colour with a pale cross-line. The forewings are a chocolate bronze brown with a pair of dark silver-brown and pale edged cross-lines running diagonally through the forewing.
Distribution:  Widely distributed and locally abundant.Occurs in all areas of the county and is particularly associated with woodlands and waste ground where bracken occurs.
