ID Difficulty:  Red – difficult to identify – detailed examination required, often a Gen Det and/or specimen and quality photographs are required.
Confusion Species: Glyphipterix equitella

ID pointers: The forewings are dark golden bronze with five shining white streaks (strigulae) along the back half of the wing. The markings on the forewings feature metallic leaden spots near the wing tip and a prominent, curved white streak from the mid-wing’s bottom edge (dorsum).
Distribution:  (Last record: 22 April 2026 at Snake Pass summit )  –  Uncertain due to insufficient data;Harrison & Sterling record Darley Moors 1967, Beeley Moor 1971 and 1987; DaNES one at Hall Dale 1971. One adult emerged on 22nd April 2026 from Cotton Grass seeds collected on 13th April 2026 from Snake Pass summit.
General Comment: A highly specialised species depending entirely on boggy habitats where the larval food plant Cottongrass grows.
