Taxonomy:   Micro  >>  Bucculatricidae Other Name/s: Alder Bent-wing ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Easily recognised by the overall dark brown forewing colour with opposite whitish spots located on the costa and dorsum – an orangish head and a whitish border to the cilia.
Distribution:  (Last record: 2009 at Norbury (Leaf Mine involved) )  -  Uncertain due to insufficient data – only records are 26/09/2006 Shallcross Wood Field Observation – Leaf Mine / Norbury 1/10/2009 – Leaf Mine – Adults are difficult to locate
Flight Period: June /  July /  Mine Period: June /  July /   - The larvae create a tenanted mine in the leaf of Alder, sometimes Bog Myrtle, feeding on the upper-side rather than the underside of the leaf.
