Taxonomy:   Micro  >>  Bucculatricidae Other Name/s: Daisy Bent-wing ID Difficulty:  amber  - care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely - quality photographs required.
ID pointers: A Leaf-miner – A tiny moth with a general dark greyish-brown colouration with off-white markings and noticeable white eye-caps. MINE – The mine is a long meandering narrow gallery and filled with black frass. Found on Ox-eye Daisy Mining the leaves first then creating small feeding windows.
Distribution:  (Last record: 23/08/2022 at Birch Vale )  -  Probably local and uncommon moth, wherever there are Ox-eye Daisy.
Flight Period: May /  July /  August /  November /  -  On the wing during the day in April-May – July – August. Mine Period: January /  February /  March /  April /  July /   - The mine is a long meandering narrow gallery and filled with black frass.
