ID Difficulty:

ID pointers: A yellowish-orange head. Forewings a mixture of pale brown, reddish brown and whitish markings, with a distinct white spot, which is nearly always present, in the mid-area of the forewing.
Distribution: Common throughout Derbyshire with the exception of the moorland areas where it is recorded infrequently.
Flight Period: May / June / July / August / September / - On the wing during May – September at dusk but will fly in sunshine
Moth Activity: Cathemeral - sometimes seen during the day
