Blue -  Generally Common / Widespread   
Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Zygaenidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: The moth is diagnostic, being the only British Burnet to have six crimson red spots on each forewing. 
Distribution:  A fairly common and attractive species found in Derbyshire Dales and suitable rough grassland of the southern low-land  areas of the county. A typical day flying moth of the summer months often many feeding on knap-weeds & thistles.
